How do I post images to my personal image gallery?

Now that you've created an account, you'll want to know how to post all those great Vancouver photos.
When you are logged in, you'll see your member navigation menu on the bottom left-hand side of your screen (titled with your username in bold). The second entry is create content, and when you click on the link, you'll see three options. The last option is simply titled image: click on this link.
There are only a few things that need to be filled in. First, your photo needs a title. Make it something descriptive, like "False Creek in May" or "Dog Wearing a Parka".
Next is the Neighbourhood drop-down menu. Pick the area of Vancouver where the picture was taken. Just choose Vancouver if you don't think the area is listed.
The third item is labeled Vancouver Photos. This is where you can choose one or more categories that you think the subject matter of the picture falls into. On Mac, Command-click to select multiple categories, and on Windows, use Control-click.
The Browse… button will show a file selection window. Browse your local hard drive to select the image you want to upload. We can handle all but the largest images (currently the maximum is approximately 1600x1600 pixels and 2MB).
Lastly, you can fill out a Description of the photo. Some people like to describe the exact address or area where they took the picture, add some commentary about what's depicted, or even list the camera that they took the picture with (the camera information is actually captured automatically -- we'll make sure this gets displayed at a future date).
Hit the Preview button if you want to see what your picture will look like, or just hit Submit if you are sure you entered everything correctly. Wait a few moments, because it may take some time to upload depending on the size of your picture. If you did hit Preview, make sure you hit Submit afterwards, because otherwise your photo won't be saved.
Great! Now your picture is uploaded, and you can view it in your image gallery. Your user navigation menu has a direct link called my image gallery -- you can send that link to other people and let them see and comment on your pictures.
Large thumbnails are created automatically -- click on them to see a full size version of the image, as well as to see the direct link to that image. Anyone can browse your personal image gallery, and the site admins might also choose to promote your image to the front page. Currently there is a limit of 25 pictures per member, but contact us if you want more space -- we're not stingey.
