A World Poetry letter of prayers, thoughts and love.

By worldpoetry on August 28, 2010 - 1:40pm

A World Poetry letter of prayers, thoughts and love to
Neil Bhargava and the Bhargava Family.

Due to the tremendous response from World Poetry members and supporters from Canada and around the world
(more than 100 e-mails in two hours and more coming in) I have decided to combine all the messages into a single letter.
Many people also responded who could not attend the potluck due to distance.
First: A heartfelt thank you to all who responded with prayers, good wishes and love.
I was amazed at the volume of e-mails I received shortly after I sent the World Poetry Potluck cancelation message out.
Second: World Poetry would like to let Neil and the Bhargava family know that the World Poetry Family is sending many
prayers, good thoughts and love to them.
Third: The World Poetry Prayer Circle and other prayer groups are also sending prayers to them.

On behalf of our World Poetry Family, our very best wishes for health and a speedy recovery.

As all goes well, we may have the World Poetry Potluck at their home next month,

Healing blessings and love,

Ariadne Sawyer and Alejandro Mujica-Olea,
Founders and hosts of World Poetry.

Important World Poetry Update for summer and fall!

By worldpoetry on July 10, 2010 - 10:36pm

Dear Honoured Poets and Supporters,

Welcome to another World Poetry Update. We have had another action-packed year.

Highlights were the World Poetry Gala, the life celebration of Li Bai with our first international guest, Dr. Hadaa Sendoo from Mongolia, as a presenter. Dr. Sendoo is our World Poetry Ambassador to China and Mongolia. Thanks to all our wonderful partners and great media coverage, the event was an outstanding success.

We continue another year with the World Poetry Café Radio Show. We now have 25 countries that listen on a regular basis.

We also presented a moving tribute to Vera Manuel with our partners, the Aboriginal Writers Collective, among many other WP events.

Personal news:
Alejandro has a new book coming out, published in the US.
Ariadne is working on the third draft of her novel, and is also doing a book of dream poems called Love Poems to the World. This has been an interesting experience.

Here is a calendar of coming events in the summer and fall, with a peak into the future:
• July 28th 6:30 pm World Poetry Night Out at the New Westminster Public Library (our gracious hosts and partners)716-6th Avenue (Auditorium Room) with hosts: Ariadne Sawyer & Anita Aguirre Nieveras

Ariadne's Dream Project: Love Poems for the World!

By worldpoetry on June 5, 2010 - 9:15am

Dear World Poets, Supporters and Friends.
This year I have begun a personal research program to create dream poems with the goal of helping to heal the world.
The idea began many years ago when I was apprenticed to a First Nations Elder and he told me about the elders in the past who could heal parts of the environment by going to those places and staying there until the healing began. He described the world as a living entity that needs help and support, at times getting out of balance. Elders like Rolling Thunder did this on a large scale.
A month ago I had a dream which inspired me to begin this project. Most of the time, my research projects are with other researchers but this time I will start the project by myself and then perhaps with other researchers do an anthology of dream poems in the future.
I could use your help in the information process. If you have a short story or paragraph of 100-150 words or a poem that would in some way describe your country or region, I will read one before I go to bed at night and then write the corresponding dream as it happens.
