Girl in a Swimsuit

Originally uploaded by Right Antler.

Vancouver clearly has a different idea about what a Rock Goddess should look like. I've noticed a few 'human' scultures around the city, like this one, an old lady on a bench, a runner, a man standing serenly ... it's funny how this trend does not seem to reflect the cultural diversity of the city though, at least not yet! ...

Sulphur Shadows 2

In addition to the beautiful setting of the city, I have always liked the fact that this is a real place. For example, if I look to the North Shore I see Sulphur, Granville Island, cement. People Do enjoy the setting, but they also work here as well.

A bit of a departure for this Moose-ing - it's away from the downtown core. This Mosaic is up at UBC, where to me the campus looked generally very tired. The Museum of Anthropology of the other hand was totally amazing and highly recommended ...

Building Art 1

Three things combined on this shot for me. First the building art, reminiscent of First Nations art at the bottom, second the Canadian flag at the top and thirdly the location. On busy busy Burrard. Taken on a day without rain in the city! ...

Catching up on my reading this weekend I came across this article which makes a nice reference to our very own Urban Vancouver! An interesting little read on a Sunday afternoon.
