To showcase the breadth and depth of fresh talent, Langara College presents Artsfest 2008 running April 2 - May 10. Artsfest encompasses seven unique grad shows and Planet of the Arts, a one-day interactive celebration.

Explore your creative side--design a magazine cover, manipulate a photograph, create a painting, and mingle with performers. Learn more about our wide-range of Creative & Applied programs and chat with graduates and alumni about their experiences.

International Dance Day events

Vancouver celebrates International Dance Day with a series of vibrant performances, events and displays presented by The Dance Centre at venues around town. The events – many of them free – will showcase the diversity of BC’s dance scene. Highlights include Jennifer Clarke’s new work and a group dance and music improvisation at Scotiabank Dance Centre; Pop Up Dances at various locations around Granville Island; site specific work by Raven Spirit Dance Company in and around Coal Harbour Community Centre; classical East Indian dance performances with Mandala Arts and Culture at the Vancouver Public Library; and One Enchanted Evening, a South Pacific-themed fundraising event at Scotiabank Dance Centre.

Addiction Services Education Series

The Addiction Services, Public Education Series, is a community service of Vancouver Coastal Health. This program is free and open to anyone who is interested in addiction, alcohol and other drugs.
There are 6 sessions, 1) what is addiction, 2) drugs and the body, 3) recovery, 4) family issues, 5) helping others, 6) drugs in our society-a public health approach to drug control. Participants who complete all six sessions will receive a certificate upon completion. This ongoing program occurs every Friday morning from 9:30-11:30 on drop-in basis, no registration is required.
