Explore your creative side--design a magazine cover, manipulate a photograph, create a painting, and mingle with performers. Learn more about our wide-range of Creative & Applied programs and chat with graduates and alumni about their experiences.

Langara College’s ArtsFest 2008, the 4th annual showcase of a student work, will close with Planet of the Arts, a free interactive celebration for the community. There will be opportunities to perform, design, create, paint, sculpt and direct, as well as view some of the best student work of the year.
Students and instructors from Langara College’s Creative & Applied Arts will be in attendance. Planet of the Arts encourages the community to experience the arts through a hands-on boat building activity. There will be art supplies available to craft boats, which upon completion will be released into the College’s reflecting pond. Other highlights include roaming theatre performers, stunning display designs, film screenings, live music, and prizes.
Planet of the Arts is taking place on May 10, 2008, 1-5 PM outside Langara College’s new Library/Classroom Building, 100 West 49th Avenue, Vancouver. Sponsors include Apple Inc., CBC Radio, Georgia Straight, and Impact Instant Canopy (formerly Caravan Canopies Canada).

Projecting Change is an innovative organization that focuses on promoting Green and Sustainable Living through the use of entertaining & educational Film. Through the strategic use of engaging films and inspiring speakers we aim to increase awareness and promote change within our local community. Through these efforts all profits are invested back into local initiatives.
PROJECTING CHANGE FILM FESTIVAL 2008 taking place May 8th to 11th at The Ridge Theatre (3131 Arbutus Street) in Vancouver.
The festival focuses on promoting green and sustainable living through the use of entertaining and educational films combined with local, inspirational speakers to give the films more immediate, local relevance.
Each day's films focus on specific themes: Food & Agriculture, Sustainable Energy Sources, Building Methods,Consumer Goods, Kids & the Environment; allowing for a structured and focused insight into the issues that matter.

The Addiction Services, Public Education Series, is a community service of Vancouver Coastal Health. This program is free and open to anyone who is interested in addiction, alcohol and other drugs.
There are 6 sessions, 1) what is addiction, 2) drugs and the body, 3) recovery, 4) family issues, 5) helping others, 6) drugs in our society-a public health approach to drug control. Participants who complete all six sessions will receive a certificate upon completion. This ongoing program occurs every Friday morning from 9:30-11:30 on drop-in basis, no registration is required. Start your summer with a new workout - experience our Women's Cardio Kickboxing Bootcamp and get a toned body in time for beach weather!
Join us three times a week for 4 weeks for our total body workout with boxing drills, core ab exercises, interval training, and more! Never the same workout twice with our programming and lots of variety to keep all fitness levels challenged.
LOCATIONS & SCHEDULE
All Bootcamps are 3x/week (12 sessions). Due to the format of our Bootcamp, we do not offer drop-in rates or switching of class sessions - please review our registration policy under our FAQs section online. Participants are required to come to clas with handwraps and cardio boxing gloves.
*Note: All Saturday classes take place at 2875 St. Georges St. (near Fraser & Kingsway).
