The score, seen in the background, is 12-3 for Whalley over Prince George. When we got there, it was 9-0 in the second inning, and as we were making our way to the seats, Prince George had made it 9-1 with a home run to centre-field.
The photo was taken after the game of the Big League Little League Provincial Championships, not the Junior Provincial Championships as it states on the wall of the dugout.
The good folks at 1morevote.org were set up outside of Urban Fare last weekend (the 4th of July!) helping US citizens living in Vancouver to fill out their requests for absentee ballots so they can vote in the US Federal Election. They weren't espousing any particular political position, but according to their website, surveys indicate that about 85% of US voters living in Canada would vote against the chap who's currently in the White House (when he's not vacationing in Texas, that is)
Not sure about the branding strategy for the mascot, since it wasn't obvious (and still isn't) what the mascot was for. Cute though.
The house, which is really made of wood, actually has pop cans glued to its exterior. And it did not seem to be part of any marketing effort. Otherwise why are Pepsi cans next to Coke cans?
