Vancouver, BC, March 17, 2005- Executive Event Production is pleased to announce that Food Network Canada is once again the Official Show Sponsor of Western Canada's largest consumer food event, the third annual EAT! Vancouver, The Everything Food + Cooking Festival. CTV 9, The Vancouver Sun and CKNW are the presenting media partners.
Throughout the three days of the show The Food Network Canada Celebrity Stage presented by Vancouver Magazine and CKNW, will feature TV celebrities Bob Blumer, The Surreal Gourmet on Food Network Canada; Rob Feenie, host of New Classics with Chef Rob Feenie on Food Network Canada and owner of Vancouver's celebrated Lumiere Restaurant and Feenie's. Bob and Rob will be joined on stage by Chef Tony De Luca., Executive Chef of the Hillebrand Estate Winery in Niagara Falls and author of the new cookbook Recipes From Wine Country. Vancouver Magazine 2005 Restaurant Award winners will also be featured on the Food Network Stage.
Celebrity chefs, popular local restaurants, wineries, food and beverage manufacturers, cookbook authors, retailers, artisans, and many others from the culinary world will come together once again for a three day public extravaganza at BC Place Stadium. Live demonstrations will take place on the Terasen Gas Cooking Stage, sponsored by CTV & The Vancouver Sun. EAT! Vancouver encompasses unique food experiences, opportunities to learn behind-the-scenes culinary magic from professional chefs, dynamic entertainment through celebrity chef cooking demonstrations and intense culinary competitions, diverse food, beverage and cooking related exhibits; and of course fantastic shopping opportunities.
Visitors will watch the excitement of heated competitions at the 'Iron Chef' style Citytv's Master Chef Competition presented by Dudson China and The BC Greenhouse Growers Association, the EAT! Vancouver Ice Carving Competition, the Knorr/Canadian Culinary Federation's Junior Culinary Competition and the BC Chefs Association's Grand Culinary Salon...
New this year: the Tidings Magazine Seminar Stage where wine and food experts will conduct wine and food pairing seminars and tastings including presentations and food & wine pairings by Chef Tony De Luca.
Also new this year will be the Canadian Festival of Barbecue Competition-Presented by Weber, Canadian Club,Hardcoals, JRFM & KVOS TV and taking place at the entrance to BC Place on the Terry Fox Plaza with an expected 25 teams competing.
Come for lunch and stay for dinner! EAT! Vancouver has teamed with the Union Gospel Mission to launch a joint new initiative: the Bowls of Hope restaurant feature area, sponsored by Now TV 10, Famous Foods, Telus and The Spirit of Vancouver. The chefs of favourite Lower Mainland restaurants will serve up appetizer portions of their signature recipes. For a nominal charge ($1.20 - $3) per 'bowl', visitors will be able to savour the flavours of numerous eateries. Proceeds from the Bowls of Hope will go directly to UGM to help feed Vancouver's hungry.
While at EAT! Vancouver, visitors will also enjoy shopping in the marketplace of nearly 200 exhibit booths. Producers, manufacturers, retailers and food artisans will showcase a wide assortment of unique products for eating, drinking, cooking, entertaining, and outfitting a kitchen. Exhibits will include everything from gourmet foods to kitchen accessories, barbecues to beverages and numerous culinary tourism temptations.
