Creativity Rocks! # 51
Note to everyone: A number of listeners and readers have E-mailed me to ask about the latest feature of Creativity Rocks! Last week we had a special fundraiser for Co-op Radio on the World Poetry Café Radio Show and all features were dropped. I have not forgotten you! We are still doing fundraising. If you want to support our show and Creativity Rocks! please call 604-526-4729 or go to www.coop.org, become a member and put in the name of The World Poetry Café as your favourite show.
Ibrahim from Cairo, Egypt writes:
Dear Ariadne, I am a student learning English in Cairo. I have a question: How can I make a good creative space to work in?
Greetings to Cairo! This is exciting.
You need to create a personal space in which you can feel comfortable and in control. Surround yourself with meaningful, varied, interesting or exciting objects and pictures. If you are interested in nature, bring pebbles, branches or flowers. A well known musician that I worked with made his studio over with sections for painting, movement and his collection of instruments from many countries. He would create his songs by going from one section of his studio to another. A writer may need the view of a favourite window overlooking a tree. A poet that I know, made a tent in her office and she would crawl into it to write. Find what works for you and then change some of it from time to time so that you have something new.
You want to have an enriched and unique space which reflects your personality.
Let me know what you come up with.
Thank you for writing to Creativity Rocks! ©
