Dear Ariadne, I am a student learning English in Cairo. I have a question: How can I make a good creative space to work in?
Dear Ibrahim,
Greetings to Cairo! This is exciting.
You need to create a personal space in which you can feel comfortable and in control. Surround yourself with meaningful, varied, interesting or exciting objects and pictures. If you are interested in nature, bring pebbles, branches or flowers. A well known musician that I worked with made his studio over with sections for painting, movement and his collection of instruments from many countries. He would create his songs by going from one section of his studio to another. A writer may need the view of a favourite window overlooking a tree. A poet that I know, made a tent in her office and she would crawl into it to write. Find what works for you and then change some of it from time to time so that you have something new.
You want to have an enriched and unique space which reflects your personality.
Let me know what you come up with.
Thank you for writing to Creativity Rocks! ©
