Commercial Drive

I spent a weekend getting reacquainted with Commercial Drive and was pleasantly surprised that is has kept all of the good and dumped some of the negative overlying organic energy. Always know for its great Italian café’s and alternative dining with upcoming kitsch design and fashion stores. It really blew me away and I asked myself why I don’t spend more time on the Drive. It has a community that is so inviting. Old favourites are of course Tony’s Delhi, Havana, Sunrise for breakfast, the awesome La Grotta for the best cheeses like fresh buffalo mozzarella, Arriva for Italian, Nick's for pasta, Juicy Lucy’s for power shakes yummm, Wabi Sabi for fusion! Gone however is Bukowski’s an old haunt I never liked and new is Take Thai Home- great and cheap thai food. I was surprised to see the chains of: Escents, Starbuck’s and Cobb’s Bread all move onto the First Ave. & Commercial block too. Here's a delicious Greek Salad I had chilling on the sidewalk patio earlier this week.
