I can't remember where I heard this story but apparently a lady moved right across Canada to get away from the often bleak and frequently stunning East Coast. She was outraged when taking a walk down to Coal Harbour when she found this, she'd come so far to get away from this kind architecture ...
I agree, I don't know if it's the city choosing these artworks or the developmers but oh my G*d! They are awful. I purchased a townhouse down in yaletwon a few years ago and the "art work" there I thought was scaffolding for a new building. Rather it was some iron scaffolding wtih black and white film photos on it. Ugghhhh
