Celtic pride comes alive on the streets of downtown Vancouver from March 15 to 19, 2006 with over 40 performances to entertain you at dozens of popular downtown locations in Vancouver’s Entertainment District, on Granville Street. The festival offers lively Celtic music on a variety of stages, Irish and Scottish dancers, quick-witted poets, the weekend street market, the 3rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and a Gaelic Football match. You’ll discover a new, family KidsZone, fine Irish films, the Brewmaster’s Dinner, a Whisky-tasting, cabaret nights, a charming theatrical revue on Percy French, one of Ireland’s greatest artists and much more. Mre than 80% of the events are FREE. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on Sunday, March 19 from 11am to 1:30 pm along Granville Street, the parade will showcase the heart of the Celtic and non-Celtic community with dancers, musicians, performers, unicyclists, Mounted Horse performances and much more. The parade will be followed by an official ceremony and lots of free family entertainment throughout the day in the festival’s new KidsZone and at the Weekend Celtic Street Market, on Granville St. (between Smithe & Robson).
