New Vancouver events for everyone

The past 3 months have been spent on a new project. One which I mentioned on here about 6 months ago.
Last year I launched an events guide to Vancouver (Vancouver Events). The site, at that time, was nothing that was particularly head turning however the website has now been re-launched along with 14 other events guides to Canadian cities.
But what makes Vancouver Events different from other event guides such as the Georgia Strait, the entertainment pages in 24 / the Metro or some of the various local niche event sites?
A lot! Vancouver Events has a huge selection of events from singles events to concerts, sports to theatre, and just about everything in between.
Another big difference is that it gives you more than just what's on this week... You can select a date in the future, search by type, and it is all free (of course).
It is also free to add events, add venues, and if you are an event promoter then you can create a free profile and get some free publicity.
This is a new venture from a local guy so any feedback is welcomed.

I tried registering but didn't want to give my phone #. (And I didn't feel like giving a fake one.) When I left it blank, it said I "must complete the entire form". What's the purpose of asking for that info anyway?
Hi Richard,
You don't need your phone number. It isn't an essential field.
I updated the form so it is a bit clearer.
The purpose of the cellphone field is for use in a 2nd (within 3 months) or 3rd (within 6 months) phase of development. You will be able to use your cell phone to receive notifications about when events you bought tickets for are about to start, venue info, and a lot more - you can choose what you get and how it is delivered.
At the moment cell phone service is not required and you can still send pages to a friend using the "send by text message" feature which appears on certain pages.
Enjoy.
