slippery nipples at the poker night

slippery nipples at the poker night

By moritherapy on June 5, 2006 - 10:07pm

last friday about 35 of us had a poker night to raise funds for the weekend to end breast cancer. it was a hoot! i had a title to defend - together with anita, i had won the last poker tournament (for big brothers) that my husband's company, trade business forms, had put on in april. (i still don't know why i won - i hardly ever play poker).

no, i didn't win this time. was it because i started off the night with a double shooter of slippery nipples? or was it because the only times i won was when i had 10's? at one point i actually had 4 tens (perhaps the best hand in the whole tournament) - but i was so low on chips that i was only able to draw about $15 out of my opponents' pockets.

oh well, it was all for fun anyway, and for a good cause. glenn's co-workers at trade were awesome - thanks cam, michelle, steve, len, dan and everyone else! keith was the big winner - he took home $510. he and ted were the only ones left over, and if ted had imbibed a few less drops of booze ... who knows ...

talking about booze. we were bozos about the booze. glenn offered to buy the beer and i accepted ... and ... well ... somehow all that black label didn't go over too well. hmmm .... ok, so next time we'll ask glenn to take on a different task.

now we have tons of cheap beer lying around. what to do with it???? any suggestions? any suggestions about how to turn cheap beer into yet another fundraiser?

Have you ever tried boiling the potatoes in beer ?
Everybody ought to do this just once - or maybe more!
Uses a lot of beer, but hey - you've got lots...

hmmmm .... you gave me an idea ... how about i dig up all kinds of potato recipes and turn that into a fundraising dinner event?

would you come? i'll serve beer-boiled potatoes! :)

I just love potatoes, even when not boiled in beer, but
especially when they are. Sure I'd come to a dinner, as
long as you don't expect me to be sporting my unused
'Pepsodent Smile' - it's resting comfortably in its jar.
Why do I love potatoes? Because (a) I'm part Irish, and
(b) there's lots of ways to cook them, and (c) there's
no bones in 'em, so they're easy to chew or gum to death :)

aaaahhhh - a fellow potato lover ... maybe we should start a potatoe blog here?

anyways, my daughter is totally into the beer dinner party (it would be a fundraising event for the weekend to end breast cancer) so we'll have to figure out when to do this - some time in late july, i guess. go to my web site at www.moritherapy.com, and email, call me, or fill in a contact form, and then i can let you know when and where! we do great parties ...

and yes, you don't have to bring your pepsodent smile - i like to leave me extra teeth in the jar, too :) (i mean, how many teeth does a person need anyway?)
