Beyond Robson has a piece on Vancouver designer vintage clothes store Discollection, which is having a first anniversary customer appreciation sale today. From the Discollection website's announcement:
Come to Discollection this Saturday [March 3rd, 2007] at 12pm and be ready to shop till you drop. We are offering four sizes of bags ranging in price from $20 - $175.. You get to fill the bag with as much stuff as you can squish in.. so be creative, get rolling, folding and practice packing, so on Saturday you can get the best bargin in town.
I'm a square, so who knows how much it has to offer me, but the clothes do look great, and I'm going to visit the store, because I know the proprietor Kim through Urban Vancouverite Kris Krug. Kris has a bunch of photos from the store and of models wearing the clothes, so if those won't convince you to take a look at Kim's collection, then nothing will. The store is at 324 W. Hastings St. in Vancouver, and they can be reached by phone at 604-331-1244.
Jumping into the controversy about whether or not the edited
photo on the right is better than the original on the left,
I'd just like to say that anyone with the bundled photo editing
programming that comes with many scanners or anyone with the
basic photo editing capabilities of a program like 'Picasa"
from Google can do the same things for themselves in just a
couple of minutes, and it won't cost between $5 and $7 to do it.
And anyone with a Graphire Tablet can do a lot more than that.
I like the original, and all I would do to it would be to
increase its brightness, and give it a bit of tone adjustment
to warm the skin tones a bit - and restore the sharpness after,
so the details are not lost.
