The sport of Floorball is starting to take off in Vancouver. A team from the city, the Vancouver WaveRiders are in Toronto this weekend to compete in the Canada Cup - a four year old tournament with over 30 teams.
Today was the round robin part of the tournament and the WaveRiders won 2 of their 3 games to go qualify for tomorrow's quarter finals in the intermediate division. They were helped along today by a hatrick from BC Floorball Federation President Greg Beaudin and a first career shut out by WaveRiders goalie Scott Douglas in the third and key game.
