A quick look at today's headlines 'n stuff....

Glancing at Google's headlines, I see that Russian billionaire
Deripaska is investing 1.54 billion in Magna, the auto parts
conglomerate owned by Bodacious Belinda's daddy. Does this mean
Belinda's going to take up wearing big furry hats, and dancing
the Hopak and drinking vodka? Only The Shadow knows....
Moving along here, Tony Blair is packing it in on June 27th, in
favour of....what?...sanity returning to Britain's foreign affairs perhaps?
And the world's eggheads are frantically cataloguing, during the
next ten years, all 1.8 million known species of animals, plants,
and other organisms, just before half of them go extinct...
Lastly, if your computer has Java's JRE installed, you might
want to check your version. The latest is JRE 1.6.0_01 and the
upgrade is still a free download. A big one. It added over 17,000
files to my system, and even though Java recommends keeping the
older versions on file in case older programs were written for
those, I dumped the previous version JRE 1.5.0_11, to reduce
that file total by about 14,000, to nearly where it was before
the upgrade. Everything still seems to be working just fine.
Enjoy your day, Folks.
Hi there Ray, I'm a producer with CBC's Sounds Like Canada. I'm working on a story about seniors and technology. I really like your blog and I would love to have a chat with you, if that's possible! Thanks very much for your time. michelle_eliot@cbc.ca
