Yaletown Construction
Moosehat's Vancouver Moose-ings Part 109
Moose-ing uploaded by Right Antler. Back living downtown it's time to restart the moose-ings. It's almost seventeen months since we lived downtown and much has changed. Construction hasn't though and seems to have accelerated. It's funny, but living on a mountain appears to have helped me develop a more effective ability to zone out the noise ... I'm on the 16th floor of a high-rise here in North Van, on
the border with West Van, and it surprised me how much noise
I get from those "weekend warriors" across the street with
their fancy lawn mowers and weed-eaters. The noises seem to
be louder than if I was down at ground level - probably because
there's not as much in between to dampen them down.
Sometimes, I wish I had a "potato launcher" to send them
a message - especially on a Sunday morning :)

Love the potato launcher idea! LOL

We are on the 15th floor in Yaletown and the main noise intrusion is the sirens of the emergency services. Every so often some poser in a Honda Civic has stuck a banana up their exhaust to make it sound 'throaty' - which is interesting as it always makes me want to rip their throat out when I hear it ;-)
