And the answer comes from the L.A. Times....
"One of the world's truly dangerous men, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, left New York a clear winner this week, and he can thank the arrogance of the American academy and most of the U.S. news media's studied indifference for his victory."
Iranians are not stupid people, and I can't understand how they picked this guy for
their leader. I know a lot of them still remember the Shah and the old days, but
this is just ridiculous. Ahmadinejad's finger-waving reminds me a little of Hitler,
and his pompous and wandering rants.
And this just in from 'Information Week', in an article headed "Microsoft to extend
Windows XP sales as Vista concerns mount" :-
"The company said it will make the full version of Windows XP available to PC manufacturers and retailers through June 30, 2008. It will continue to offer a basic edition in emerging markets through June 2010."
So don't throw out your old XP installation CDs, Folks - they're still very useful.
In fact, some manufacturers selling PCs with Vista installed are also including a
restoration CD of Windows XP Professional, in case the user doesn't like Vista
and wants to switch it back.
Speaking of Windows, if you'd like to have a free test which installs on your PC
and tests your hard drive condition, Seagate provides one called SeaTools for Windows
and among its tests, it can trigger the drive's own built-in DST (Disk Self Test)
which only takes a minute or so, and if it passes, you have no problems with the
disk itself. It's here: http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/seatools
and this test program works on most brands of hard drive, not just Seagate or Maxtor.
So if you worry about strange noises from the rig, get this and check it out.
