The constellation Orion reveals many galatic treasures during the upcoming clear evening skies.

In the upcoming rare Vancouver clear nights - enjoy an evening walk and look first southward and to the eastern horizon where you will see the constellation Orion.
Inside this constellation holds some of the most active and spectacular galactic images. There are a number of visible nebula's that can be made out by the naked eye or using just binoculars. My favourite Orion nebula is the Horsehead (just under his belt and to the left) which can only be seen unfortunately through a very high powered telescope.
Also looking directly overhead is the constellation "Andromeda" - a fuzzy oval shape to the naked eye that is approx. 1.5 million light years away. The closest galaxy to our own Milky Way after our neighbouring Large and Small Magellanic Cloud Galaxies. An anomaly about Andromeda is while the universe is still expanding - pushing out - Andromeda is moving closer to us! Enjoy these upcoming clear evening skies.
