Coming soon to a store near you...

This morning's Vancouver Sun says Plastic bags could be a thing of the past and we'd better start preparing for it by getting ourselves a cloth shopping bag, or a back-pack, or maybe both. Seems reasonable to me. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is getting tired of those plastic bags multiplying in another bag under the sink, or wherever. And if you live near or in a high-rise apartment building, you're probably also tired of seeing those damned bags hanging from the nearby trees, or blowing half a block away into your neighbour's yard. They're a curse. Let's get rid of the damned things.
You can find that article here.
And here's another one about China banning use of plastic bags. If they can do it, why not here?
Hey hey, long time no chit-chat-
Funny stuff- After some of those wicked wind storms I had the pleasure of walking out of my building to a fresh orange plastic bag of garbage. =) Certainly wakes up the senses that's for sure!
I personally prefer the cloth bags, it saves me a trip to the garbage, I feel it keeps things a bit cleaner (except the black Superstore bags I purchased, those shed black residue and can't be used on things that perspire like milk or ice-cream) and they're nice and strong. So lugging a 3pack of Soy Milk up the stairs when the elevator is busted doesn't always seem like I'm about to have a hernia. =/ The one's from IGA are nice, although they're huge and you have to warn the cashier not to overfill them- so far they're my favorite.
Cheers*
- And a big hug to you! Enjoy your weekend.
