Maybe Earth Hour was disappointing, but here's some ideas....

I was disappointed in the response to Earth Hour last night, and evidently I'm not alone.
People in Melbourne, Australia and other places felt the same. But as one official said, it was never about the electricity savings, but rather about our state of mind toward doing something positive about global warming.

With that in mind, here are 100 tips from Con Edison to help you make a difference and you might like to print them out
for future reference. Paste them on the fridge, or someplace handy. And read them periodically. It's for your own good, says Oldest Living Blogger.

I participated in this worthwhile but largely symbolic gesture. Earth hour was a stroke of marketing genius in starting to shift cultural mindsets. The awareness spread around the world was the most powerful influence of Earth Hour. In terms of environmental impact, it would have been much better if people didn’t light all those candles! They create emissions to the air which are also bad for indoor air quality. Much of the benefit of turning off a few CFLs for an hour was negated by a whole bunch of people lighting a ton of candles!
