Rallying Social Media Makers for EPIC Sustainable Living Expo

Rallying Social Media Makers for EPIC Sustainable Living Expo

{Cross-posted at happyfrog frogblog: Join the Greenest Geek Squad Ever! Social Media frogsquad at EPIC}

For one of my day-job projects, I am rallying together a rag-tag team of social media makers to create a tasty batch of social media at the EPIC Sustainabile Living Expo next weekend. Bloggers, podcasters, photographers, and vid-makers are all invited to participate in making compelling content while hanging out with an eclectic variety of citizen journalists at a really entertaining event at Canada Place.

See below for the relevant details including how to get in touch.

Many of you heard the podcasts I've recorded from events like the Wellness Fair, Car-free Fest, Parade of Lost Souls, Remembrance Day in Vancouver series, and many more Vancouver locales - yup, i really enjoy crafting social media - heck i even filmed some of HempenRoad (a documentary film) at Canada Place in 1996. Anyhow, this is a chance to and share your work with a wide audience of eager, green-minded folks and get some nice perks. DIg it.

Here's the deets excerpted from happyfrog frogblog:

EPIC is Smart

Indeed, happyfrog seeks experienced bloggers/social media makers to join the "frog squad".
If you already know the blogging/podcasting ropes - great! If not yet a veteran, enthusiastic learners who are eager to participate and hone their chops are encouraged.

We are also seeking volunteers to join us in chatting with visitors at our booth over the three day event (no you don't have to be there the whole time ;-)) - help folks sign-up, have some laughs, let businesses know they are listed, and change the world a bit.

Send a note to tell us you're interested.

Oh yeah, there is a cash honorarium, free EPIC admission and a very cool bamboo happyfrog t-shirt waiting for you (plus admiration of many and mucho links too).

Where: Canada Place, downtown Vancouver (Waterfront station via transit)

When: Friday April 18 through Sunday April 20

What: Are you an experienced blogger, photographer or podcaster? Want to assist with the video filming?

Perhaps you want to hang around the happyfrog booth and look really
good while telling our story to all that drop by? Always wanted to hang
out with other bloggers for group work? Here's the chance.

Ready to get involved? Just let us know - we'd love to have you join us.

btw: Can't make the show this year?

Then watch happyfrog's frogblog, the EPIC web site, happyfrog on YouTube, frogwalking on Blip.tv, happyfrog flickr group, etc. to keep up with all the social media coverage compiled by the frogsquad. We'd love to hear your comments and suggestions.

I have a PC, not a Mac and not a notebook, so I can't join in blogging with other bloggers from an event anywhere else but right here at my desk at home. And why would I need to ? Why can't we all get together on a blogging-type website, and blog up a storm? Why do you suppose we have community blogging sites like Urban Vancouver?

Speaking of which, Richard and his merry band of experts have just completed a long-awaited upgrade to the programming which powers this website, and it includes some new features to make using it even easier, so if you haven't yet joined others on here with your own blog, then it's probably time you did. It's free, quick, painless, and doesn't result in more spam. What more could you ask? If there was a better blogging site anywhere, then 'Oldest Living Blogger' would be on it - trust me - have I ever lied to you?
