May 1, 2008 - Pianist Cary Chow performs on Fazioli Concert Grand Piano
Vancouver pianist Cary Chow will perform a limited seating solo recital at Showcase Pianos on Broadway Sunday, June 15, 2008 at 3:30pm. The program, spanning repertoire from the 18th to 20th centuries, will feature Mozart’s Sonata in C Minor, Brahms’ Seven Fantasy Pieces Opus 116, Rachmaninov’s Etude-Tableaux, and Prokofiev’s Sonata #7. This exclusive event will also demonstrate the capabilities of the Fazioli F278 Concert Grand Piano, considered the Ferrari of modern concert instruments.
“Here is a unique opportunity to be up close with the pianist and this incredible instrument”, says Chow. “The audience will be able to experience the music virtually from the performer’s vantage point.”
Cary Chow is a renowned concert performer, recording artist and teacher. He has performed solo recitals, chamber music and with various orchestras across North America, the United Kingdom and China. He is on the faculty of the Young Artist Experience at UBC and a Guest Professor at Central Conservatory of Music Attached Middle School in Beijing. His recent CD, Zirkus (Step Inside), featuring Carnaval and Kreisleriana by Robert Schumann was released in September 2007 to critical acclaim.
