World Poetry Call for Poems on Light!

1st World Poetry Call for “The Essence of Light” theme.

World Poetry would like submissions for our interactive display at the Roundhouse Community Centre ( www.roundhouse.ca) Go to virtual tours on their site and check out Exhibition Hall) The display for the Essence of Light will be on from May 11-25th. We will have World Poetry volunteers at the Create a Poem Table to help the public write a poem on the theme.
Our partners: We are honoured to be celebrating our 6th annual World Poetry- ExplorASIAN anniversary with our new partners and the curators and artists of the special exhibit NUR: LIGHT-The Essence: and our generous hosts the Round House.
Theme: the exhibit: NŪR: LIGHT – The Essence
Poems to be submitted: One page poem in English or one poem in English and another language.
Font: New Romans, size 12.
Please put your name, city and country plus © sign at the bottom.
Poets from around the world are welcome.
This is a one time copyright only.
Deadline: May 11th, 2009.
You will be notified if your poem is accepted. Selected poems will be read on the World Poetry Café Radio Show with your and published in the World Poetry Electronic Newsletter with your written permission.

In collaboration with ExplorASIAN, the Roundhouse and NŪR: Light – The Essence World Poetry explores the essence of light through poetry, music, art and dance in this celebration of six years of working with ExplorASIAN Month.
Hosts: Ariadne Sawyer and Alejandro Mujica-Olea.
Featured poets and performers include: Bong Ja Ahn, South Korea, (World Poetry Lifetime Achievement Award Winner 2009) launches her new book Letter from the Sea
Renowned Korean masked dancer Chang Hyun Han
Aly Sunderji an Indo-Canadian poet who explores the themes of light.
Musician Mayo Landicho, originally from the Philippines, singing in English and Tagalog.
Yeh-fan Wang, a well respected poet in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Philippine poet Cora Salvador
Plus Poetry by you! Selected work by poets of all ages inspired by light and created in the exhibition will be read. World wide poetry display will also be featured.
