Cherry Blossoms on Granville

Cherry Blossoms on Granville

By Roland Tanglao on April 14, 2004 - 9:39pm

One of many Cherry Blossoms patches on Granville on a grey Wednesday April 14. We never had thick swathes of blossoms like this back in Ontario when I was growing up. Maybe that's why I never had a problem with allergies until I moved to Vancouver. This year it's particularly bad in BC and I am not alone. Check out the CBC's Allergy season in full bloom for tales of how bad it is this year.

Hey, those look like the petals I had in my hair this morning!

This year for the first time in many years I have full blown allergy problems. According to my doc, this is the worst year in almost 15 years for pollen in the air.

Maybe Zolair will help. If not, it should be over in a couple of weeks.

From the CBC Story:
"Chang says the reaction is so bad for some of his patients they are seeking a new treatment only available in the United States.

He notes that Zolair isn't approved for use in Canada yet. Chang says it is highly effective, but very expensive.

The tree pollen season is expected to end in a couple weeks."
