Do comments need titles?

Do comments need titles?

By kk on August 9, 2004 - 2:18pm

This is by no means a life or death usability issue, but today was the 3rd time I've thought about it, so I'll ask....

Do comment forms need to have a title field?

Peoples comments are often themed around the title of the post that one is commenting on and a title comes off as redundant. Also, comments are often short quips and questions. I've noticed that here at UV it's not uncommon for someone to use the Comment Title field for their actual comment and leave the Main Comment Body field blank.

For what it's worth... :P
