Farm Folk/City Folk 10th Anniversary at Heritage Hall
By Boris Mann on April 16, 2004 - 10:43pm
I attended the Farm Folk/City Folk 10th Anniversary event tonight.
It was fantastic! Having just moved back to Vancouver, it was great to experience such local enthusiasm and involvement in food and food policy issues.
And the food…
Well, see for yourself.
The site of the event, Heritage Hall, is equally stunning.

Herb Barbolet, the society's co-founder (who is leaving the organization) spoke a bit about the history and what had been accomplished. Herb mentioned that the first meeting of the Vancouver Food Policy Council, now funded by the city, would be taking place May 5th. As well, there was a push towards political action at the provincial level, and Barbolet endorsed Gregor Robertson, founder of Happy Planet juices, as NDP nominee for the Vancouver-Fairview district.
A guitar duo, Rosemary Campbell & Don Kellett, provided entertainment. We left right after the raffle (no winners for us!) and before the Rose Room Swing Band started.
I'm already looking forward to the 2004 Feast of Fields event.
