Jack Johnson's 2008 Global Tour greening initiative (http://www.jackjohnsonmusic.com/greening), joins hands with 30 Days of Sustainability in Vancouver in order to inspire music fans to create change.
How green is Jack? Really green. Jack Johnson's 2008 Global Tour will include powering buses, coaches and generators with bio diesel. The tour will offset its impact on climate change by contributing 65% of offset dollars toward renewable energy projects that use wind and solar power. 35% of offset dollars will go to programs that prevent deforestation. Sleep Through the Static released by Brushfire Records, is recorded using 100% solar energy.

30 Days' Sustainability and Kids: Growing Up Green for Kids and Parents

Bring the kids for a family oriented green afternoon. Kids will enjoy 30 Days' recycled craft creation, face painting, bubbles and Bonkers! A musical duo that performs interactive songs about sustainability like “Go Talk to a Tree”, “Energy Hog”, “Planting a Garden” and more. Yoga for the both the kids and parents! Kids 8 to 88 also invited to operate mininature wind turbines, which provide power to model electric cars, for mini-races. This Saturday, May 3rd at Britannia Community Centre and Grandview Park, Vancouver, the Solar Powered Road Show will be giving away over $500 in free, revived alkaline batteries.
