Ariadne Sawyer and Alejandro Mujica-Olea won an award for their World Poetry Café Radio show on December 8th!
Producers and hosts Sawyer and Mujica were invited to a Gala dinner and given two large certificates honouring their work on the radio show by Project Cultural South Canada and the Latin Business Network.
Alejandro said “After eight years of working on the radio show, it was great to receive an award for all our work on the show.!”
The weekly World Poetry Café Radio Show airs every Tuesday night at 9 pm PST on Coop Radio, 102 fm. To listen on the Internet: go to www.coopradio.org

Ariadne Sawyer to Receive Artist of the Year Award!

World Poetry co-founder and co-host, poet and author Ariadne Sawyer will receive the Artist of the Year Medallion (Maria Elena Parra award) on May 26, 7:00 pm at the Alma VanDusan and Peter McKaye rooms at the Vancouver Public Library Central Branch, 350 West Georgia St, Vancouver, BC. The award is given by Project Cultural South, Vancouver chapter and is part of their fifth year anniversary celebration. Music, poetry and refreshments will be part of the event.
Ariadne says: " I wish to thank Project Cultural South for this great honor and accept it in the name of all volunteer women who spend endless hours trying to make the world a better place. I think that the work I do for the community is an art form.”
