Today's Vancouver Sun has this about the wasting of the food we buy and don't use. It isn't only an American problem - we all do it - and Dear Old Granny was right: "Waste Not, Want Not."

So here's a hint for you: Don't go grocery shopping on an empty stomach, because you'll be tempted to buy on impulse things that later may end up in the garbage practically untouched.

The Chef's Studio Series is presented by Lisa's Dining Club (www.lisasdining.com) and Four Willows Catering (www.fourwillowscatering.com). The concept of the Chef's Studio Series is to provide a forum for notable cooks and chefs to showcase their knowledge and experience in an intimate and interactive atmosphere. The Chef's Studio Series will be an enjoyable and interactive experience for both cooks and participants. It is a great avenue to cultivate the exchange of ideas, information and culinary secrets. The Chef's Studio Series is about interacting and learning to cook with a professional chef on the last Tuesday of every month starting in July 2008.
