At the CRS, we cast brand new scripts on the spot, then watch them fly in front of a live audience. The CRS is the place for Vancouver's artists to meet one another, share their work, and create more. Every live reading ends with a party in the Gallery where you can meet up with other artists over a cold beer.
Actors need to make quick, strong choices and commit to the story. You don't have to submit your headshot and resume around here, just come on down. Casting starts at 7:30 pm. If it's your first time, come say hello, grab a beer, and watch the readings. You'll get an idea of how we work.
For its 16th season, the CRS is moving to a once a month schedule with a special event or two thrown into the mix. For more information on the 2009 CRS please visit www.evolvingartscollective.com and click on the shows & events link.
CURRENT SCHEDULE:
July 23 @ 7:30pm - Opening Night!
August 20 @ 7:30pm
September 10 @ 7:30pm

The unreliable certainties of memory in writing your life.
They say we all have a story within us. Each life is a story, but usually not one offered up to public scrutiny. In this one-day symposium we will consider many examples of the memoir: from the collection of short pieces from Marion Farrant’s early years; the edge of crime from Sharon Butala; the socially aware memoir of Leilah Nadir; the assisted memoir from Jim Taylor; and the intensely private revelations of Philip Lee and Keith Maillard.
The 2009 Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival invites budding and established poets from around the world to submit haiku honouring Vancouver’s 36,000 cherry trees.
This year’s theme for the 2009 Haiku Invitational is international friendship and the cherry tree.
Entry deadline is January 7, 2009.
Winning entries in five categories will be announced by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and displayed on TransLink buses and Skytrain this Spring.
